This site exists so that Brothers can help Brothers. Keeping it simple depends on a few shared expectations.
Community guidelines
- Members are Master Masons. We ask for your Grand Lodge member number when you register. It stays private and may be used to help confirm membership with your Lodge if a question arises. A Master Mason may post a request on behalf of another Brother who needs attire.
- Nothing is for sale. Do not ask for or offer payment for clothing. Agreeing to split the actual cost of shipping is fine.
- Be accurate. Enter the sizes on the tag and describe the condition honestly.
- Photos. For Available listings, photos must show the actual item being offered. Wanted requests use our standard Wanted image; do not upload photos copied from stores or catalogues.
- Be courteous and prompt. Answer messages, keep your word on pickups, and update your listing’s status so other Brothers are not left waiting.
- Keep it Masonic formalwear. Suits, tuxedos, shirts, shoes and accessories appropriate for Lodge. Other items will be removed.
- Respect privacy. Keep messages within the site until you both decide to exchange contact details. Do not share another Brother’s information.
How the exchange works
- Clothing offered here is free. This is Brother-to-Brother giving, not a store or a charity drive.
- Indiana Masonic Closet does not buy, sell, own or ship the items. Brothers arrange pickup or shipping privately, and may agree between themselves to share actual shipping costs.
- The site does not process payments and never asks for card details.
- No charitable tax receipt is provided. Giving an item here is a gift between Brothers, not a donation to an organization.
- Condition and fit are ultimately between the Brothers involved. Ask questions by message before arranging a pickup.
- Site volunteers review every listing before it goes live and may edit, decline or remove listings or messages, and suspend accounts, to keep the site safe and on purpose.
- Indiana Masonic Closet is an independent volunteer project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Grand Lodge of Indiana.
